Doing the will of God
Testimony of Pastor Paul Taylor
I learned through the school of life and difficulties that if I remain faithful to God, He will remain faithful to me.
As a young man I knew that God had called me to be a preacher. A ministry opened in London , Ky, under the leadership of Troy Boggs. After a period of time, I returned to my hometown to get my bearings. Finding work was difficult. Thinking of going to Louisville to find work, God had different plans, and another ministry door opened under W.L. Rodgers. One day I asked Brother Rodgers what God's will was for my life. He said, "Do what you know how to do until the Lord tells you otherwise." What a great learning moment to trust God for everything. And I learned perseverance. Hebrews 10:35-36
So do not throw away your trust, which has great reward. You need perseverance, so that after doing God's will, you can receive what has been promised. In a previous lesson I taught what we can do as Christians not to throw away the trust we have in the Lord. Every time we come to a crossroads in life at the corner of Broad Street and East Way. Broad Street leads to destruction; East Way is the narrow way and requires perseverance to remain in the Lord's will. This is only possible through the Power and Strength of the Spirit of the Lord.
James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
A short list of what we must do to be in God's will! Salvation is the first step.
Pray fervently to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the harvest field, which consists of wherever we can be. We must always be ready to share the gospel. In Acts 22:6-16 we can read about Saul's conversion to Paul. Before Saul's conversion, he was known throughout the early church as the chief persecutor of all Christians. What did the early church do? They remembered Jesus' words,"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Acts 8:1. The early church became doers of his words and prayed fervently for Saul's salvation. Read Acts 9 and as Paul Harvey would say, "Now you know the rest of the story." I thank God that my parents did not give up on me. They prayed that God would bring me to his knees, and in 1974, I accepted Jesus as my savior.
Over the years I have learned perseverance, and anyone who has Christ as their savior has learned what it takes to remain faithful and true to Him.
Satan has told many that the sin they are involved in is too great. He is telling someone, you have failed God over and over again, why try again? He is saying life was easy before Christ, you lived for the moment. Satan is a liar. God's will is for all people to be saved. 2 Timothy 2:3 John 3:16 God loved each of us so much that he gave his only begotten Son. Today is the day of salvation Romans 10:8 believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again on the third day, confess with your mouth and the word of God says you will be saved . Continue to pray for the salvation of your loved ones and remember that it is one who reaches one for the Kingdom of God.
The winning of souls is the will of God!
2 Peter and 1 Peter exhorts his readers to make their calling certain by faith and other virtues. With all diligence add virtue to knowledge. Virtue is having high moral standards.
This is the will of God To grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior-Jesus Christ
Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. The apostle Paul in Titus 1:1 wrote for the sake of God's elect and lo
Knowledge of the truth of God's written Word will bring us victory when the past hits us in a moment of weakness. Set aside everything that hinders us,we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of darkness.
Self-sufficiency only leads to failure. Learning to walk in the Spirit comes from knowing His Word. Psalms 119:11 Your word, O Lord, I have hidden it in my heart.
At the foot of the Cross Learn to rely on Him and overcome and leave all the past behind. Men refuse to forget what God has forgiven, For it is not by power, nor by our strength, But our victory came through the blood of Jesus, shed on the tree of Calvary.
This is God's will for you and for me. Stand firm in the Lord. "Steady as she goes" is a nautical term that generally means to keep to the established course. Keep an eye on your compass and if you begin to deviate, recalibrate to correct your course.
James 1:1 Blessed is the man who stands firm under trial, for when he has passed the test, he will receive the crown of life.
We all know someone who has been in the ministry and had a traumatic incident on the road of life : divorce. It is true that God hates divorce, and He hates the sin that caused the divorce. Let us be careful how we judge others and remove the beam from our own eye before we look at the speck in another Christian's eye. God knows the circumstances and knows whether true repentance was sought on both sides.
2 Samuel 11:27-12:14. God sent Nathan to confront David with his sin God still sends others to warn.
Man or woman of God, what are you doing, God called you and you answered here I am Lord, IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP and come out of the brackish waters of life and return to the deep waters for the Lord.
All Christians, stay on the narrow and narrow road. If we stray from God's old path, the Holy Spirit will begin to coax us and push us back. He will send people on our way to speak into our lives and remind us God's call applies to everyone,
yesterday is past, tomorrow is the future, what is done for Christ must be done now. we answer to God and not to men.
Romans 11:29 And do not forget that God's gifts and call are irrevocable.
Proverbs 16:9 God directs the steps of a righteous man; his plans are many, but God directs his steps.
The Body of Christ We have different functions and need each other to fulfill God's plan for humanity Because the body of Christ is composed of different parts dowe it to us to stay in tune with God and go wherever He sends us. Where He sends, He will provide . E examples found in the Bible The trials and journey of Joseph Genesis 37:12-36 The Samaritan woman John 4:7 And Paul's name change Acts 9:1-8
Soon and very soon we shall see the King What a day it will be When I see my Jesus And look upon his face He who saved me by his grace When he takes me by the hand And leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day it will be !!!!!
Keep holding on to God! And do God's will. And receive what has been promised.
