Open Doors: a voice for the persecuted Church in the world.

Browsing the web, one finds many realities actively engaged in supporting persecuted Christians . In the global Christian scene, few entities have been able to combine information, prayer and concrete action as well as Open Doors (known internationally as Open Doors). For more than seven decades, this Christian organization has been serving the persecuted church, supporting believers living in contexts of hostility, discrimination and violence because of their faith in Jesus Christ. The Christ who identifies with the persecuted and needy and says : ” … I was hungry and you gave me food , I was thirsty and you gave me drink , I was a stranger and you welcomed me , I was naked and you clothed me , I was sick and you visited me , I was in prison and you came to visit me ….” Mt. 25:35 .

One global mission, one church

Open Doors was founded with a clear vision: to strengthen what the world would like to break. The organization now operates in dozens of countries, supporting persecuted Christians through:

– practical and humanitarian aid

– biblical training and discipleship

– support for local leaders

– defense of religious freedom

– accurate information about the persecution

The heart of the mission remains the same: to serve the local church, without replacing it, but walking alongside it.

English language activities: a global platform

In the English-speaking world, Open Doors plays a key role as a primary source of information on Christian persecution. Through websites, podcasts, reports and international conferences, the organization:

– Publishes the World Watch List, the annual list of countries where Christians are most persecuted

– Spreads stories and direct testimonies from the suffering church

– promotes prayer and advocacy campaigns

– Involves churches, universities and young adults

The language is accessible but rigorous, designed to inform without sensationalism and to mobilize conscious prayer.

French language activities: giving a voice to Africa and the Francophonie

In the Francophone world, Open Doors has become increasingly important, especially in relation to Francophone Africa, where many Christians experience silent pressures and violence.

Activities in French include:

– video testimonies and interviews

– materials for prayer groups and churches

– awareness campaigns

This presence allows Francophone churches to feel part of one Body, informed and in solidarity, overcoming the risk of isolation.

In Italy, Porte Aperte does valuable and often unseen but vital work. Its activities include:

– meetings in churches, conferences and seminars

The goal is not to create fear, but to awaken awareness so that the Italian Church does not forget those who suffer for the same faith.

In a time when the Christian faith is often experienced privately or culturally, the work of Open Doors reminds us of an uncomfortable but evangelical truth:

Following Christ has a cost, and many brothers and sisters pay it every day.

Their stories are not told to elicit sterile sympathy, but to:

The work of Open Doors in English, French and Italy is a bridge between worlds far apart but united by the same faith. In an age of distraction and superficiality, this organization continues to remind the Church of an essential call: do not forget those who suffer for the name of Christ.
