La Carovana Evangelica
We live in a time when many believe that the Old Testament belongs to the past and has little to say to believers today. Yet it is precisely in its pages that we discover how God transformed ordinary men and women into extraordinary instruments of His glory. Their strength did not lie in personal abilities, but in their obedience to the Lord.
From Genesis to Revelation, God has always worked according to a perfect plan. He establishes the way, calls His people to walk in it, and blesses those who walk in obedience. This principle has not changed. The God who led Israel out of Egypt continues today to guide those who trust in Christ.
Israel had promised to follow the Lord, but too often obedience remained only on their lips, while their hearts turned away from Him. For this reason God repeatedly sent His prophets to warn the people that judgment would come if there was no sincere repentance. The people heard the message, but rejected the truth.
Even today God’s call resounds with the same force: “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is near.” The nations have replaced the living God with the idols of our time: success, money, power, and pleasure. But sin continues to be the root of humanity’s spiritual crisis.
For this reason Paul exhorts us to remain steadfast. To be steadfast means to remain firm in the faith, without allowing sin, compromise, or the pressures of the world to turn us away from the narrow path that leads to eternal life.
The eleventh chapter of the Letter to the Hebrews presents us with men and women who remained faithful despite enormous difficulties. Noah built the ark when no one understood what he was doing. Abraham departed without knowing where God would lead him. Others endured mockery, imprisonment, and suffering, but did not give up their trust in the Lord.
Paul also invites us to be immovable. In a world where new ideas and false doctrines continually seek to confuse God’s people, the believer must be rooted in the Word. A mature faith is not carried away by every wind of teaching, but discerns what is in accordance with Scripture.
For this reason we need to grow continually. At first we desire the pure milk of the Word, but God also calls us to feed on the solid food of spiritual maturity. Only a life hidden in Christ produces discernment, peace, and stability.
Finally, Paul exhorts us to always abound in the work of the Lord. The Christian is not called simply to believe, but to serve. The Holy Spirit continues to fill men and women so that they may bear fruit for the glory of Christ. Like Stephen, full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, we too can be instruments through whom others are led to the Lord.
God has not stopped calling His people. He continues to seek available hearts, men and women ready to respond to His voice. The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. If the Lord has called you, He has not changed His mind.
Today the Lord still asks His question: “What are you doing here?” It is an invitation to leave behind every fear, every flight, and every compromise to return to the service He has prepared.
Therefore remain steadfast. Remain immovable. Always abound in the work of the Lord.
Your labor for Christ has not been, and will never be, in vain. Every act of faithfulness, every word spoken in His name, and every sacrifice made for the Gospel will be remembered by the Lord and will bear fruit for eternity.
